Overview

Trent AI is redefining agentic AI with context-driven agentic security. Its proprietary judgement layer and reinforcement learning technology power a collection of specialized security agents. By orchestrating these agents across customer workflows, Trent AI transforms agentic security into an effortless, continuous part of agent development. Trent AI was launched in 2025 by co-founders: Eno Thereska, former Distinguished Engineer at Alcion (acquired by Veeam), AWS, and Confluent, Neil Lawrence, DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge and previous Director of ML at Amazon, and Zhenwen Dai, former Machine Learning Scientist at AWS and Senior Research Manager at Spotify.

Key Capabilities

The product:

Trent AI is offering layered context based AI security that uses specialized agents across the security lifecycle. Trent AI's Agentic Security Solution is a single, unified offering. Rather than a patchwork of disconnected security tools, it delivers one self-reinforcing system composed of specialized agents, each doing one job exceptionally well, and every cycle through the system making the next one smarter.

These agents do the following:

  • Scan. Agents continuously observe code, infrastructure, dependencies, and runtime behavior to identify evolving risk patterns
  • Judge. Agents analyze findings, reduce noise, and prioritize issues based on real-world impact
  • Mitigate. Agents automate remediation actions such as patching vulnerabilities, opening pull requests, or adjusting configurations
  • Evaluate. Agents track security posture over time, benchmark against standards, and identify systemic weaknesses

The result: Giving every team an AI security agent.

The resulting system for developers and security teams means agents can ship faster with less human oversight. Every cycle of the agents operating makes them smarter and more intuitive about the systems they protect. As the feedback loop tightens, judgement improves and mitigations become more accurate, giving development and security teams a faster, more reliable path to safe deployment.

Customer results:

Canopy

Use case:

  • Canopy runs a 7 step journey taking enterprises from "we're thinking about switching cloud providers" to a signed contract and executed migration.
  • Trent is Step 5: Providing Canopy with two Security Assessments for their end customers (as a prospect and as a customer).

"One of the biggest bottlenecks in cloud migration projects is assembling the information needed for security reviews. Today that process involves multiple stakeholders and can take weeks before a CISO can make an informed decision. Trent acts like a 'CISO copilot,' helping us collect, analyze, and organize the information needed for an initial risk assessment in hours instead of weeks, allowing our security team to focus on decisions rather than data gathering." -James Mark, CEO

  • Canopy gets instant credibility with Trent as their security intelligence layer: Known risk beats unknown risk, de-risks the decision, accelerates procurement, unblocks deals
  • Trent turns architectural change into a board ready risk register before any workload moves
  • That output fuels Canopy's leverage in supplier negotiation and lands directly in the CTO/CISO board packet

Weblogic

Trent AI Use Case: Risk Assessment

  • New Business Pitching: Run vulnerability assessments on prospects without system access, leveraging Trent before a contract is signed.
  • Hosting & Maintenance: Embedding Trent into their top-tier managed hosting plan gives clients ongoing security visibility.
  • Onboarding Upsell: Scan new client sites at onboarding, surface structural issues, and package a remediation scope.

"We are able to ship advanced custom security solutions in hours rather than days or weeks now. Highly recommended." "Trent is a game changer and opens immediate commercial use cases for us." "We closed our biggest customer of all time and Trent played a pivotal role in landing them for security credibility." -Jack O'Connor, Managing Director

How we are different

Trent AI's leadership team has deep roots in both academia, research and the technology community. The leadership team's backgrounds represent Alcion/Veeam, AWS, the University of Cambridge, Spotify and Amazon.

The biggest gap in security for the AI industry is contextual understanding. Many tools can detect potential issues, but a rare few can reliably determine exploitability, business impact, or whether a proposed fix is safe in production. False positives and fragmented tooling remain major challenges. Most existing tools are also reactive rather than context-driven, meaning security remediation is often too late or slow. Trent AI's agentic AI security for agents addresses these gaps head-on, offering an always on, always learning alternative.

The result of these security agents working together is a continuous security loop with agents that are constantly improving with the contextual knowledge of an organization's agents and environment. This helps ensure risk is prioritized and security learnings compound.

Trent AI's contributions to the cybersecurity and developer community:

Trent AI is active in the security and AI community, currently a Partner Startup member of OWASP, the Open Worldwide Application Security Project, as well as a Startup Partner with Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab Venture Network.

Trent also works with Claude Code to give contextual security assessments, specific to your application and unique security requirements, directly inside Claude Code. This allows developers to ensure that security is strong and deeply integrated, without leaving their coding environment. Similarly, Trent AI is available to connect to Lovable projects to analyze your project's generated code, backend configurations, API connections, and data flows.

In addition, Trent AI provides its security agent for open-source platforms such as OpenClaw. Trentclaw is installed as a skill via GitHub and runs a continuous security audit on OpenClaw config, skills, and tool permissions, delivering prioritized findings and the exact fix for each one. Trentclaw agents analyze users' OpenClaw environment including how it's configured, what's exposed, where policies are too loose and where sensitive data might be leaking. Trentclaw also analyses users' custom skills, which are written inside OpenClaw but not published. Users receive a clear, prioritized assessment of their security posture: what to fix, in what order and why it matters.
